Yesterday, we had a sleep in as we did not have very far to travel. So leisurely, we packed up the Karavan and were ready to leave the caravan park by about 1000. As we had not had a real coffee, we decided to return to our discovery of a nice coffee the day before at the Imperial Hotel/Motel. Already at that hour there were quite a few people around doing the same thing.
Eventually, we left Bingara bound for Tamworth. I had some issue s with the GPS so we stopped along the way to try to rectify the problems. Soon we moved off again. After a short while we arrived in Barraba and had a short stop. Then we moved off again towards Manilla.
On the way we made a stop at Split Rock Dam. It is like Copeton Dam and is very low and only about 5% of its capacity. We had lunch overlooking the dam and there were a few people fishing in the dam as well as a few moving around just looking.
After lunch we made our way to Tamworth, passing through Manilla. We went to Bunnings to get a replacement 12 volt light to use outside the Karavan. Our previous one has given up and it is cheaper to get a new one than fix it. Then we went to Tamworth Shopping World to get a few items for the evening and later on.
We then travelled only a few kilometres to stay the evening with my sister and brother in law, Bindi and Bill. They had friends, Randal and Airlie, staying that we had not seen for a long time. It was a nice evening chatting and generally catching up on family and news of others we rarely see or communicate with.
So we were in bed at a reasonable hour with a few rain drops falling on the roof of the Karavan. Sadly, for this area, there was little to no rain.
