Yesterday, another day that started leisurely. It was lightly raining all day which is really needs in some of the areas we are travelling through.

There is not much fun in packing up in the light rain. However, we did it with a little more speed than normal. We said goodbye to Randal and Airlie earlier in the morning. Before we packed up we chatted with Bindi and Bill. Eventually we said farewell to them and travelled into Tamworth.

When we dropped into Tamworth, we went to the Gorgeous Grub. It is not only a cafe that makes nice coffee and eats but also sells various items for the kitchen. Another nice place to get a coffee with parking being very easy as it is on the eastern end of Peel Street which is the centre of the CBD.

We then left Tamworth for Gunnedah. It showered all the way which makes for slow driving. As we arrived into the main street of Gunnedah, we found the town to be quite busy and parking our rig became a bit of a job. Soon we found a good safe park in the rear car park of Coles Supermarket. Then we strolled from the park towards the Coles Supermarket and came across an old friend and former neighbour, Ann. So, we had a nice chat about our families.

Then we walked through to the main street and into the Sportspower shop which is owned by a former Apex friend, Ian. Some time was spent catching up as we had not seen each other for some years. He suggested a great lunch spot.

As it was now lunch time we went to a very nice cafe, Verdict. It is owned by former neighbours. It is really nice. The meal was very well presented and delicious. The coffees were also wonderful. During the time we were pleased to meet up with numerous people we have not seen for some time. One of them, Peter, had followed our trip last year and joked about the issues I had with the Mazda Bravo last year. It was really nice to spend time, albeit short, with them.

Then we went to see some friends, Ross and Di, who used to help with our farm as consultants. It was great to see them as they are both very busy people travelling all over the country with their work.

Late afternoon, we left for about a 90 minute trip to a farm near Purlewaugh to spend the night with our friend Lesley on her farm. A nice evening was had with some great food and of course, red wine!
